A Note From Danielle & Elise – August 2023
Summer is a time when people love to be outdoors to engage in various events and activities. Recently, Elise and I volunteered at “Canyon Rim Cares” Day of Service. We oversaw the information booth.
A Day of Joy and Service at Canyon Rim
There were so many fun things. “Artistic Endeavors Dance” had free dance lessons and performances. Bouncy houses for kids to play on. Free breakfast and lunch. We were able to work with non-profits in the community and see them in action.
Community Involvement in Various Projects
Hundreds of people in the community of all ages assisted with:
– Project Connect: Made kits for loved ones that may be experiencing a mental health crisis.
-Mural Painting: To honor the memory of Winnie Watson.
-Millcreek Promise Program: Donate school supplies and create school kits.
-Summer First Aid Kit: Assemble first aid kits for you and family.
-Winter Item Drive: Crochet or knit winter hats/ scarves. Donate clothes.
Applauding the Generosity of Millcreek Community
Big clap of hands and hugs to Millcreek community, volunteers and all involved. I was overwhelmed by the generosity of time, donations and willingness to give up a Saturday to make this happen.
Opportunities for Summer Volunteering
Summer isn’t over yet. You can still be involved in a non-profit, charity or fundraiser in YOUR community. It will be a rewarding experience!
